Lady’s bedstraw, oxeye daisy, wild strawberry and harebell – flowers, each lovelier than the last, attract pollinators with their colours and scents. Meadows are nectar bars that are not only beautiful but also vital for pollinators.
Besides the music gigs, at Allas Sea Pool you will also be able to take part in creating a collaborative work of art – Pollinator Paradise. The non-stop Aalto University Junior workshop will involve festivalgoers using textile waste to create a meadow and also feature discussions on the importance of pollinators and meadows. Come join the project and turn textile waste by cutting, tying, sewing or embroidering into your very own meadow plant!
To take part in creating the meadow, visit the Allas Sea Pool Yoga Room near the concert stage. After the World Village Festival, the artwork will be displayed on sites including Aalto University.
Aalto University Junior offers art, science, technology and business for children, young people and teachers. When curiosity is unlimited, you can do anything.
Venue and time: Allas Sea Pool, Sunday 29 May from 11.00 to 19.00
