French-Colombian singer-bassist Ëda Diaz innovatively mixes traditional Latin American rhythms with experimental electronic music.
The artist, who grew up between Paris and Medellín, Colombia, has been releasing music since 2017. Diaz blends her two identities together in a tribute to her two nationalities. In her lyrics, she explores the contradictions of human life: the contrast between contemplation and restlessness, illusion and reality, madness and reason.
Diaz’s latest album, Suave Bruta (2024), has received widely international attention in influential media outlets. Among others, the British newspaper The Guardian and the French newspapers Le Monde and Télérama have praised the album.
On stage, Diaz plays the double bass, one of the fundamental elements of Latin music. She brings the festival audience a vibe that feels like the streets of Medellín and the clubs of Paris.
