Across the Waters Installation
Across the Waters is a participatory art installation that brings the stories of thousands of migrants crossing the Mediterranean to Helsinki. The piece is dedicated to those fleeing war, persecution and poverty in search of a better future.
The installation gives a voice to people whose journey is unfinished and challenges viewers to reflect on human rights, solidarity and responsibility for our common future.
Festival-goers can contribute to the work by leaving a message for those whose journey across the water was unfinished.
The installation is produced by PlusCollective for Sea-Watch.
The installation is located in Art Alley, between Speaker’s stage and Street Art Area.
Across the Waters reminds us that every human being deserves a safe life.
