Finland’s role in advancing a just and sustainable future in Palestine-Israel
How to achieve a rights-based and decolonised peace in Palestine-Israel? What does this require in practice? What is Finland’s role in this work?
The panel discussion will deconstruct Western-centric models of peace mediation and explore the meaning of decolonisation. The discussion will be led by Noora Dadu, Chair of the Finnish Palestine Network Sumud, actress and writer, and Georgia Gerike, founding member of Nahlieli – Jews for Justice in Palestine, researcher, and Ilaria Tucci, board member of the European Peace Research Association and theatre-maker.
The discussion will seek to chart the Palestinian Israeli peace process from the present, i.e. the situation in May 2025, forward. The discussion will be moderated by Lili De Paola, Middle East expert and coordinator of the Finnish Palestine Network Sumud.
The programme can be followed on the festival’s Speaker’s Stage in Tiivistämö or via streaming on the festival’s website.
