Grammy award-winning Ebo Krdum is a Sudanese singer, guitarist, actor and peace advocate living in Sweden. Krdum’s songs are contemporary political Afro-blues and Afrobeat, with roots in several sub-Saharan musical traditions. Ebo Krdum writes his songs in several languages, including English and Arabic.
Krdum’s songs deal with issues such as the fight against corruption, disarmament and peace. These themes resonate with him personally, as the situation in his home country of Sudan is still very unstable and war-torn at the moment.
The artist’s debut album was released in 2021, and the following year he was awarded the Grammy for Composer of the Year in the Folk & World Music category.
Last year’s new album “Kemetic Vibes” is inspired by the rhythms and melodies of the Central and East African region and is named after the local historical Kemet region.
